THIS IS JUST FANTASTIC
I forgot the password of our website immediately following the update we posted after SXSW. This meant that all of the wonderful press, photos and the like was not posted. You can imagine that it has been an exciting, rewarding and challenging time since our last post and we value you taking the time to view our site.
We are performing tomorrow evening, July 29th in Toronto with Japanther at the Silver Dollar. I don't even know how many times I've seen Japanther at this point, but I know it is a few dozen times and they are always impressive. We're also performing with Male Bonding in Toronto on September 2 at the Horseshoe Tavern. If you live in Toronto, please buy a ticket at one of the usual suspects. If you live anywhere else, please fly or drive in for the show.
We will actually be recording a record that you cannot eat sometime this fall. I am hoping we call in Geek Mountain. Whatever it's called in the end, it should be out around February, then we'll go on tour for some time to support the record because we'll actually have something to sell.
READ THIS. Thanks to Chandler Levack for writing about our band unexpectedly. We definitely try to everyone dance to our off-kilter melodies.

SXSW (W)RAP UP / NEW SHOW / NEW SOUNDS
SXSW is over and done with. Here's the end result:
- We played five shows, missed one due to delays on our second last show and a ridiculous amount of traffic
- Recorded a video session in which I sang instead of yelled (vocal lessons)
- All of us got in a solid 13 hours of cardio a day
- We all ate enough tex-mex to last us a few weeks
- We all got good base tans.
Thanks to everyone involved who helped us out, we really appreciated it. Also, Pat and I went to the Screeching Weasel show where shit hit the fan. It was our first time each seeing the band and I would imagine our last. Good thing we don't have any fan tattoos, we'd be especially bummed out right now.
You can check out new versions of our songs right HERE.
We're in EYE Magazine this week, you should read the article at this LINK.
A really nice reviewer saw us at Canadian Music Week and thought we sounded like early Beastie Boys. Agree or disagree by reading the following LINK.
Our next show is on April 15th in Toronto at Parts and Labour with Parts and Labor and Child Bite. 10pm. $10 at the door.

WIND UPDATES
Hey Bros,
Neon Windbreaker has a new guitarist/bassist, his name is Matt. He replaced Shehzaad who performed his last show with us on February 20th when we performed alongside Lullabye Arkestra and Simply Saucer.
We've already written a number of new songs with Matt and look forward to both recording them and playing them live.
Now to the live part, we have a bunch of shows coming up:
Feb 26 -Toronto @ an empty house
Mar 3 - Toronto @ horseshoe tavern (email neonwindbreaker@gmail.com for free entry)
Mar 4 - Kingston @ the merchant (We're playing with ryan malcolm from Canadian Idol's band on the 3rd and 4th. Supposedly there is a booth named after him in Kingston at an East Side Mario's, which is his hometown. Guess where we're having dinner?)
Mar 12 - Toronto @ silver dollar (Pop Montreal CMW showcase)
Mar 16-19 - Austin @ SXSW (schedule to be announced next week)
+ many shows in Toronto, Sudbury, NYC, Montreal and Ottawa to soon be announced.

VANILLA ICE'S HOME RENOVATIONS
So our sandwich, fruit and mixed drink show was a huge success in terms of attendance, maximum fun achieved and people talking about it. The downside was I lost my voice prior to the show having been sick for a week and a half with the lost voice being the final send-off. That being said, we still had fun and have a lot of shows coming up where I can redeem myself.
Neon Windbreaker went into Angles Up Studio yesterday to record a proper record with Leon Taheny. Vocals will be recorded next week when my vocal chords heal.
Here is a video from last week courtesy of The Untold City:

NEON WINDBREAKER - > SANDWICH + FRUIT
GROUNDHOG DAY SUCCESS = NEON WINDBREAKER SUCCESS
So Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow today meaning an early spring is potentially in store. The looming threat of a snow apocalypse in Toronto is nearing a close as well. These two facts offer a direct correlation of how much fun will be shared at Neon Windbreaker's sandwich + fruit release show on February 3rd in Toronto.
We'll be offering a free download of our EP online starting tomorrow. The EP is roughly mixed, unmastered and was recorded in our practice space live off the floor save for some vocal overdubs.
Hope to see you at the show, here's the info:
Thursday February 3 @ Rainbow Palace (213 Augusta, through the alley, last door on the left)
Neon Windbreaker
Child Bite
Les Frauleins
+ DJs Sex Magician and Princess Ariel
9PM. $5 at the door. Licensed. Bands between 9:45-11:45, DJs before, during and after. This show will run on time as much as possible. Neon Windbreaker doesn't play long sets, so show up on time Toronto and stop being cool with how late you show up. Sunrise is set for 7:31am on Friday, so if you show up that late or early depending on how you look at it, you've FAILED.

Show Updates
Hi Friends,
We have some news for you. Some of it is rehashed from our last update, just with new venue information, while some is legitimately new.
February 3 is our Sandwich + Fruit release concert with our friends Child Bite from Detroit and Les Frauleins from Toronto. There will be some DJs too, we just don't know who yet. The show has been moved from Korova to Rainbow Palace. There will actually be a laser light show at this concert, seriously. We're actually releasing fruit and a sandwich as a single. It sounds weird, but you'll understand once you see it. Cover is $5 and the show is at 9pm.
February 20 we are performing at Wavelength's 11th Anniversary Series at the Garrison. We're playing with Lullabye Arkestra and Simply Saucer. It's PWYC and should be a lot of fun. Simply Saucer don't play often, are influential to many and may have children our age.
March 3 we are playing at the Horseshoe Tavern with Low Level Flight. Ryan Malcolm of Canadian Idol fame fronts this band. I hope their fans enjoy our music.

NEON WINDBREAKER DOMINATION, IT'S FUN
2010 ended with a bang as I celebrated my father's birthday on the 31st. 2011 is shaping up to be the most active year of the Breaker yet. Not only did we make t-shirts, some of which sold immediately, but we are recording a live off the floor digital EP and a proper bunch of songs for future releases. We also have a lot of shows, which really isn't that many, but for us it is. Here they are:
February 3 in Toronto @ Korova w. Birthday Girls (Sandwich + Fruit Release Show)
February 20 in Toronto @ Garrison w. Lullabye Arkestra + Simply Saucer (Wavelength 11)
March 12 in Toronto @ Silver Dollar (Pop Montreal Party as part of CMW)
March 17 in Austin, TX @ Habana (SXSW - We Are Busy Bodies Party)
March 17-19 we will be in Austin, book us by emailing eric@wearebusybodies.com
